Saleem Hasanally – SPECIALIST ORTHODONTIST

Saleem completed his Dental degree (BDS) from the Royal London Dental Hospital in 2013. He gained a breadth of experience in the hospital including Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Paediatric Dentistry and Restorative Dentistry. He then went on to complete his training as a Specialist Orthodontist in 2020 at the University of Bristol achieving a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS).

Saleem is passionate about improving the lives and confidence of his patients by helping them to achieve the smiles they desire. He provides treatment using a variety of different systems for both children and adults which include clear aligner treatment including Smartee, Spark, Invisalign and Angel Aligners, fixed braces – both metal and aesthetic braces, Damon and functional appliances.

He has a keen interest in smile aesthetics and takes pride in delivering and maintaining high standards of care, which is personalised for each and every patient.

In his spare time, Saleem enjoys cycling, rock climbing, football, playing video games and cooking.


Dr. Simon Kayhanian – Dentist

Simon graduated from the prestigious Barts and The London School Dentistry in 2011. After qualifying as a dentist he was fortunate enough to work at the University Dental Hospital in Cardiff in Orthodontics, Restorative Dentistry and Oral Surgery gaining experience in more complex cases and treatment planning in complex multidisciplinary cases. Following this, Simon achieved his MFDS from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow in 2013. Simon worked in general dentistry full time and has gained experience in advanced restorative dentistry and cosmetic cases, including management of tooth wear. After extensive exposure to various dental specialities Simon became senior clinical lecturer at the University of Bristol.

Simon has developed a passion for orthodontics and creating beautiful smiles and has completed many courses and is currently studying his advanced diploma in orthodontics with the view to becoming a dentist with a specialist interest in orthodontics.

Simon welcomes receiving referrals for complex cases requiring a combined restorative and orthodontic approach.

Simon has a very friendly and approachable chair side manner and has an excellent ability to put patients at ease.

Out of work, Simon enjoys hiking, swimming and cycling. 

 


Rosie (Rajinder) Khehra- Specialist Orthodontist

Rosie qualified from Cardiff School of Dentistry and has worked in a range of different dental specialities including Orthodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Paediatric Dentistry, Community Dentistry and General Dentistry.

She discovered her passion for Orthodontics when she took on her role as a Clinical Fellow in Orthodontics in 2016. Rosie was successful in securing a place on the Orthodontic Specialist Register after 3 years of Orthodontic specialist training and completing her Masters degree in Orthodontics at the world-renowned Kings College University Hospital, London.

Rosie has presented her work both nationally and internationally and been awarded prizes from the British Dental Association’s Welsh Dental Hospitals Group and British Society of Restorative Dentistry. Her work has also been published in the British Dental Journal and Dental Update, the 2 most prominent dental journals in the UK.

Rosie prides herself on her friendly personality, delivering the best possible results and also has a supervisory role within the practice, providing guidance to dentists and orthodontic therapists.


JAYNE ROY – Specialist orthodontist

Jayne qualified as a dentist at Edinburgh University in 1994, held senior hospital jobs and passed her Fellowship in Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow.

Following her qualification as a specialist orthodontist in 2004 in Cardiff, Jayne worked as a private orthodontist in Adelaide, South Australia before returning to the UK in 2005.

She works at the North Cardiff Orthodontic Centre as an associate and enjoys seeing dramatic results and developing relationships with her patients and seeing how their lives change as treatment progresses.


 

YVONNE YEUNG – Specialist orthodontist

Yvonne qualified as a dentist from King’s College London in 2014, where she won multiple dental prizes during her studies, including an international prize in France.

She carried out her Foundation Training in Kent, before relocating to South Wales where she gained clinical experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Paediatric Dentistry as a hospital Senior House Officer.

Following this, she completed her Orthodontic training at Cardiff University and qualified in 2020 with Distinction. Throughout her career she has presented dental research work internationally and nationally and has published in the top international scientific journals (including ‘Nature Genetics’ and ‘Developmental Cell’).

Yvonne has a gentle approach and takes great pride in delivering high-quality treatment.


JUSTIN EVANS – Specialist orthodontist

Justin qualified as a dentist from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1989. Following hospital posts he gained his Fellowship in Dental Surgery and was accepted on the postgraduate orthodontic masters course in Cardiff in 1993.

After qualifying in 1996, Justin took up a specialist orthodontic senior registrar post in Sydney, Australia.

He was acting head of department and, following a two-year period as an associate dentist in Bristol, returned to Wales and joined the North Cardiff Orthodontic Centre, where he became partner.

 

 


MARTIN REES – Specialist orthodontist

Martin set up the North Cardiff Orthodontic Centre in 1998 and it has won the continued support of referring dentists in South East Wales. It has been trusted to provide the area’s under-18s with NHS orthodontics.

He qualified in dentistry at the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1990 and worked at the Dental Hospital and at regional hospitals before joining the postgraduate orthodontic masters course in Cardiff in 1994.

Before completing his specialist training in 1997 Martin also worked in general dental practice, a valuable experience that he was able to draw on in order to make the North Cardiff Orthodontic Centre a success.

JAIME PAGE – Practice Manager

Since Jaime qualified as a dental nurse in 1999 she has worked predominantly in orthodontics. She is the HIW registered manager for the practice and works closely with the team and the patients at the North Cardiff Orthodontics Centre. 

Jaime has completed specific training in orthodontics and furthered her training, completing qualifications in management and business.

Her favourite part of the job is seeing people transformed and she takes pride in overseeing a team of highly motivated and skilled dental nurses that consistently leave patients happy with their visits to the North Cardiff Orthodontic Centre.
